Why I Teach
My passion for teaching is rooted in my belief in relationship-based education. The best part of my job is getting to know and interact with students. I enjoy getting to know students in and out of the classroom as they become part of my extended family and grow and mature into successful and productive members of their communities. I have students in class for four years, but continue to keep in contact with them long after they graduate. Many of my students become close friends that I see get married, have kids, and travel with.
Additional Information
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends including my son, Corey, and grandson, Toby. If I’m not spending time with my grandson, I love to travel to experience different cultures, people, food, and adventures. Some of my favorite trips include South Africa, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Thailand, Costa Rica, Greece, Croatia, and so many more.
