All students, faculty, staff, are required to have a valid parking permit, per vehicle, affixed to the rear window in the lower corner (driver’s side). Permits must be renewed annually. For more information on obtaining permits for students or employees of the university, please use the following link to read additional information and to request a parking permit.
Residential students need to apply for an R Permit which will give them access to park in dorm parking lots and other lots with an R designation. Commuter students need to apply for a C Permit which will allow parking in any C Designated parking lot. Any vehicle on campus between 6 a.m. – 4 p.m., Monday-Friday is subject to parking enforcement. Evening students who are only on campus after 4 p.m. will not need a parking permit.
Between the hours of 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., all visitors on campus will need to obtain a temporary permit to avoid potential citations. Temporary permits may be emailed to you in advance or obtained from the main desk of the building you are visiting when you arrive. Visitors to residence hall buildings may obtain a permit from the office of student affairs in the Andorfer Commons. Visitor permits allow for parking in any C designated parking lots as shown on the Campus Map.
There are handicap parking spots in each parking lot near a building entrance. If a vehicle in a handicap parking space does not have the appropriate handicap designation, it will receive a citation and is subject to being towed at the owner’s expense.
Parking rules are enforced 24 hours a day for parking lots designated as R only. The commuter (C) or (C and R) lots are monitored between 6 a.m. – 4 p.m., Monday-Friday. Reserved, Handicap Spaces, and Fire Lanes are monitored and enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Citations are issued by the Department of Safety and Security. Once a citation is written, the Parking Control Officer will not be able to clear the citation. Multiple open citations may result in the vehicle being towed at the owner’s expense.
Information for payment or appeals can be found on the back of each parking citation. Additional information on parking policies can be found in Techniques, the Student Handbook.
