Writing Tutors
For Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students, in both the traditional and College of Professional Studies learning environments, are assisted by the following tutors:
Senior, Business Administration – Management major
I have a lot of experience with writing and various literary styles through my previous experience as an ESL tutor and different English courses. I enjoy reflective writing and analysis, specifically because I love the deeper thought it takes to really express one’s thoughts related to a piece. Also, I am fluent in Spanish and have held positions where this skill was used. Outside of being a tutor at the Writing Center, I play women’s volleyball and I am an executive for Indiana Tech’s Catholic Warriors. Additionally, I enjoy playing guitar, spending time with friends and family, watching sports and Disney movies and drinking lots of sweet tea! My role as a tutor is to make you feel comfortable and confident about your assignment. I am willing to help with anything involving any writing piece. I understand writing can be intimidating; however, I hope to ease that process, so it becomes enjoyable. I hope to see you soon!
If you would like to make an appointment with Jacey outside regular walk-in or regularly scheduled hours, email her at Jablust01@indianatech.net.
Junior, Pre-Law, and Business Administration major
As a pre-law and business administration major, I have a lot of experience in formal writing. I enjoy mostly research writing. I enjoy this because I can start a paper knowing nothing about a topic and at the end, I look like an expert on the subject. Outside of being a tutor at the writing center, I am a member of the women’s track and field team and the treasurer for the criminal justice society. Additionally, I enjoy photography and doing volunteer work for the Down Syndrome Association of Central Ohio. As a tutor, I hope to create a safe space for you to share your work. Writing can be very personal, and I hope to be able to make you feel comfortable and confident in your writing.

Senior, Health Science
Writing has always been an interesting subject for me. As a STEM major, most of my writing is scientifically based, whether research analyses or lab write-ups. However, I enjoy creative writing the most and journaling in my free time. Using my approaches to writing and my hacks to help with the process, I will be able to help you with whatever type of paper or assignment is needed as well as teach you some new habits to use when writing. Besides being a writing tutor, I also play on the women’s soccer team and coach youth soccer both in Fort Wayne and California via zoom sessions. As a tutor, I believe after each session you should feel relaxed, confident, and prepared for writing your next paper. Being a writing center tutor does not mean you should be intimidated to ask questions or for clarification; come in for help and see us as a peer rooting for your success in class.
Criminal Justice Major – Psychology Minor – Legal Studies Certificate
Hi everyone! Writing is something that I have always been passionate about since I was very young. Because writing has been such a massive part of my life, I know how challenging and complex it can become. My purpose is never to shut you down or judge; my job is to help you make little changes to improve your writing and gain more confidence. Remembering that everyone starts somewhere is imminent, and there is no such thing as a “perfect writer.” As a criminal justice major and psychology minor, I am familiar with writing many reports, research papers, and analytical works. I have also completed the Legal Studies Certificate, which includes the core law classes, where case briefs and research papers are always present. I would be more than happy to assist in any literary category needed! Outside of being a tutor, I play soccer here for our women’s soccer team and am a huge Criminal Minds fan. I know that asking for extra eyes for your paper or presentation can seem a little scary, but I want to reassure you that I am super nice and here to help! Feel free to schedule as many appointments with me as you need, and I hope to see you soon!

Junior, Digital Graphics & Design major
As a digital graphics major, I am very used to coming up with creative ideas and solutions to problems, and my approach to writing is the same. I enjoy writing quite a bit and have written several short stories over the years, specifically fantasy and fiction works. Outside of being a tutor, I love listening to music, sketching, and spending time with family! I used to be a server at a couple restaurants, so I am no stranger to working with people and helping them out! I am a tutor and I am here to help you, so don’t be afraid to reach out if you need help!!

Sophomore, Criminal Justice
Hello everyone, my name is Kendall, and I am currently a sophomore here at Indiana Tech. I study criminal justice and legal studies in the hopes to one day be an aspiring criminal defense attorney. Working at the writing center not only allows me to help my peer students with whatever writing help they need, but more importantly, helping my community. One thing about me is I am trying to leave an impact on the world every single day, and being a tutor allows me to do that. Finally, I try to be the most kind and honest person I can be, so don’t be shy to make an appointment with me and allow me to guide you!
Sophomore, Criminal Justice and Psychology
I have a lot of experience with reading, writing, and editing, with a background as an editor-in-chief for my high school’s yearbook and writing and presenting arguments for Mock Trial. I have always enjoyed argumentative writing; as an aspiring criminal prosecution attorney, which is what I want to do in life! Outside of being a writing center tutor, I am also on the Track and Field and Cross Country Team here at Indiana Tech, Treasurer of Warriors for Kids, and a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Psychology Club, and the Criminal Justice Society. Additionally, I am from Southern California and love country music, swimming, reading, spending time with friends and family, and photography. As a tutor, I want to help you gain confidence and learn to enjoy the process of writing. I am here to help in any way I can! I hope to see you at the Writing Center!
Senior, Psychology- Minor in Criminal Justice
As a psychology major, I mostly write APA research papers. My English and Literature classes have also given me lots of experience in MLA and expression papers. My favorite part about writing is learning new things and seeing how others view them. Outside of being a tutor, I am a multi-sport athlete, so you might catch me in the gym training for cross country, wrestling, or track. I plan to further my education by getting a master’s in psychology and, eventually, a doctorate. As a tutor, I hope to help you achieve your writing goals while helping you work out any potential confusion with the assignment. My tutoring approach involves a relaxed environment that allows you to learn how to express your thoughts the way you mean them. My goal is to bring out the best version of you in your work, so don’t be afraid to reach out!
