A Special Thank You to Our Community

It has been said that trying times reveal true friends. In the wake of the bus accident suffered by the Indiana Tech men’s and women’s bowling teams last week, our students, faculty and staff were reminded just how many true friends we have. On behalf of the entire Indiana Tech family, I offer my deepest gratitude to all of those in and around Fort Wayne, Southern Indiana, Louisville and elsewhere who offered us their help and support, and who have been keeping our students, coaches and family members in their thoughts and prayers.
From Mayor Henry, the leaders of our fellow colleges throughout the area, Tech parents and citizens around the community, and many, many others, Indiana Tech has received wide-ranging offers of help with whatever our students might need. My thanks go to each of you who has reached out in this way.
I’d also like to thank the first responders on the scene, both the Indiana State Police and emergency medical personnel, who were quick and effective in helping our teams. The medical professionals at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Scott Memorial Hospital in Scottsburg, and the University of Louisville Hospital have also earned the lasting gratitude of everyone here at Tech.
From a difficult day, the good news is that it seems everyone will recover from their injuries. Please continue keeping them all in your thoughts and prayers.
