Indiana Tech rolls out two new business administration concentrations

November 9, 2020

This fall, Indiana Tech’s College of Business introduced two new concentrations within its Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree program:  Construction Management and InsurTech. Both programs include the business administration core curriculum, which provides a solid foundation from which students can customize their degree experience based on their career interest.

  • The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration – Construction Management prepares students to become leaders in the construction profession. The courses are designed to enhance skills in every stage of the construction process, providing an understanding of managing construction projects from concept to completion. Topics include construction documents, construction estimating, construction operations, construction scheduling and construction contracts. The courses are designed to increase knowledge of current industry practices and enable graduates to manage and deliver successful projects.
  • InsurTech is a unique program geared toward those who work in the insurance industry. It is designed to bridge the knowledge gap between technology, risk management and entrepreneurship. A Bachelor of Science in Business Administration – InsurTech enables emerging leaders interested in financial services, entrepreneurship, and emerging technologies to develop the skills they need to meet the demands of a lucrative and rapidly changing industry. Topics include enterprise risk management, data analytics, emergent technologies, liability management, and effective management of change and innovation.

The programs are also available as undergraduate certificates, consisting of 16 to 18 credit hours. All courses transfer directly into the bachelor’s degree program, should students opt to continue their education after completion of the certificate.

Construction Management and InsurTech are offered through the university’s College of Professional Studies, which offers career-focused undergraduate and graduate degree programs and credit-bearing certificates that are designed to fit the schedules of busy working adults. Classes are offered online, on-site at 17 regional locations, or a combination of both. Sessions start every six weeks, so students can start any time, take one class at a time and make rapid progress to degree completion. Visit indianatech.edu/GOFORIT to learn more.
