Indiana Tech Hosts Federal Reserve Advisor Speaking on 2014 Economic Outlook
February 13, 2014Fort Wayne, Ind.—Indiana Tech’s College of Business will host a public lecture by William Strauss, senior economist and economic advisor at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, on March 6. Strauss’ lecture entitled “Economic Outlook for 2014: Continued Recovery from the Great Recession” begins at 7 p.m. in Magee-O’Connor Theater in Andorfer Commons, and will be followed by a question and answer session.
Strauss is a senior economist and economic advisor in the economic research department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, which he joined in 1982. His chief responsibilities include analyzing the current performance of both the Midwest economy and the manufacturing sector for use in monetary policy. He produces the monthly Chicago Fed Midwest Manufacturing Index and organizes the Bank’s Economic Outlook Symposium and Automotive Outlook Symposium.
Strauss’ research papers include analysis of the manufacturing sector, the automotive sector, the Midwest regional economy, the trade-weighted dollar, business cycles and Federal Reserve payments operations.
