IB & Transfer Credit

Information for the International Baccalaureate and transfer credits is provided below.

International Baccalaureate (IB)

International Baccalaureate classes are often offered at foreign high schools. Students who have successfully completed International Baccalaureate (IB) courses with a minimum grade of 4 or better are potentially eligible to receive Indiana Tech course credit. An official score report must be submitted before a credit evaluation can be administered. We will notify you regarding what college credit you have earned. If you have already registered for classes by the time credit is determined, we will help you adjust your class schedule accordingly.

Transfer credit

Generally, credit is given for academic courses in which you have earned a grade of C or higher from the equivalency of a U.S. regionally accredited colleges or universities. The degree program you choose to pursue will affect the number of credits that are applied toward our core curriculum, major requirements and electives. Students who pursue an associate degree at Indiana Tech are allowed to transfer a maximum of 45 credits, and students who pursue a bachelor’s degree can transfer a maximum of 90 credits. Transcripts from all previously attended postsecondary institutions are required before transfer credit is reviewed. Courses completed at unaccredited institutions or programs will be reviewed on an individual basis.

To receive transfer credit from your prior foreign institutions, you must submit your official transcript to one of Indiana Tech’s approved transfer credit agencies.

Additional information

Transfer credit evaluations are displayed via a degree requirement report or degree audit. You can view your transfer credit evaluation through the Degree Audit Portal on your my.IndianaTech.edu account once you have applied and been accepted to the university.
