Here are the most common questions asked at the Career Center. If you do not see your question here, please contact us.
The Career Center offers free services to all students and alumni to assist with career life planning in achieving success. Services include (but are not limited to) individual appointments to answer career related questions; resume/cover letter critiques; personal skills/interest inventory assessments; counseling; career exploration; internships; professional development guidance; an on-campus interviewing program; and numerous programs that allow students to meet and network with local employers.
To meet the needs of our online of regional campus students, we offer appointments via phone, in-person, virtual via Handshake or email.

The Career Center is open 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and is located in Andorfer Commons, Suite 229. Staff members are also available outside of normal office hours by appointment.

Yes. Alumni can still have access to Handshake. You will need to create an alumni account and allow time for approval of your account.
If you have a quick question or need a resume or cover letter critique, you are welcome to come to our Career Lab, Drop-in hours from 10 am to 3 pm Monday through Friday. (Note: drop-in hours are only hosted during the fall and spring semesters.)

The Career Center does not offer placement. We are here to help you learn to find these opportunities and the appropriate employers and then step back.

The Career Center offers valuable assessments to focus on your individual values, interests, personality, and skills (VIPS). We encourage you to take one or all of these assessments to gain a better understanding of what positions fit you.

After you have had your résumé reviewed by our staff, you can apply via Handshake, IndianaINTERN.net, LinkedIn, or the company website. You can also view a list of other job search engines.
Our motto is “come early and come often.” Students may not realize it, but they begin their preparation for success after their first class.
We work to create a natural progression for utilization of career services and resources through the Career Path of a Warrior.
All events are open to all students no matter what location you attend classes and will be posted in our upcoming events. Information about career services, resources, and programs as well as job opportunities is also distributed to students via their Indiana Tech email account.
In addition, we post announcements regarding events in campus buildings and through classroom presentations. The Office of Student Engagement also sends a weekly calendar of upcoming events through student email.
Each fall the Career Center sponsors a Grad School Club where students learn about the application process, testing, selection of graduate programs, and more. Students are also encouraged to share their dreams, concerns, and resources with other students. Students meet weekly for six weeks to receive information as they move through the process.
Our staff is available to meet with students individually to answer questions.
