Organizations in every industry are eager to grow their analytical capabilities in order to refine their operations, and to identify and pursue new opportunities. Indiana Tech’s STEM M.B.A.: Business Analytics program is designed to help prepare skilled, analytically capable leaders and project managers. Our program provides organizational leaders with both technical skills and strategic management abilities to not only capture data effectively, but to turn it into competitive advantage via actionable strategies and tactics.
Indiana Tech’s STEM M.B.A. is fully approved as a STEM program by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, under CIP code 52.1301. As part of their coursework, students will obtain the knowledge and skills needed to sit for the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences’ Certified Analytics Professional examination (INFORMS CAP exam).
The STEM M.B.A.: Business Analytics program is designed for students holding bachelor’s degree in a science, technology, engineering, or math-related discipline. For non-STEM bachelor’s degree holders, there are additional courses that may be taken to prepare them to enter the STEM M.B.A. program.
Key courses in the Indiana Tech STEM M.B.A. program include Enterprise Analytics, Actionable Analytics and Model Building, Problem Framing and Sense Making, Data Communication and Visualization, Data Wrangling and Big Data, and Forecasting Methods.
Student Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the STEM M.B.A.: Business Analytics program, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge in the key functional areas of business.
- Analyze business situations and data, identify opportunities and threats with a view towards developing comprehensive strategic action plans.
- Develop and demonstrate complex problem-solving skills.
- Identify and evaluate strategic-level ethical dilemmas and apply ethical decision making skills and techniques to resolve them.
- Utilize information technology effectively as a tool for business strategy.
- Communicate effectively as a team member, collaborator and leader in a business setting.
