Minority- and women-owned business leadership seminar at Indiana Tech
August 20, 2015Indiana Tech’s Center for Creative Collaboration (C3) will host its second annual minority- and women-owned business leadership seminar, “Leading Through the Hidden Forces of Culture,” on Sept. 23, from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m., at Indiana Tech. The free event will take place in the Ravi and Eleanor Talwar Leadership Center in the Academic Center on Indiana Tech’s campus in Fort Wayne.
Seminar participants will learn how to recognize the often covert sociocultural forces outside and within their firms; how to reduce organizational stress; and how to best leverage different perspectives among team members and outside audiences to improve their organizations and increase their competitive advantages.
The event is free to all participants, but pre-registration is required at https://mbo-women-workshop.eventbrite.com. Lunch will be included as part of the program. The seminar is underwritten by the C3 and the Edward Lowe Foundation, and presented in association with the Fort Wayne Urban League, the Northeast Indiana Women’s Business Center, the Greater Fort Wayne Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and the Fort Wayne Black Chamber of Commerce.
Mark Richter, Executive Director of the C3, commented, “Culture, both inside and outside of organizations, has been more clearly identified in recent years as an important driver of business success. Understanding the impact that sociocultural forces can have on your organization, as well as how to effectively harness the variety of perspectives and experiences of your team members, can help leaders build stronger businesses. That’s what we’re all about here at the C3, and we’re grateful for the support of the Edward Lowe Foundation in helping to bring this annual event to our community.”
