Student and External Complaints/ Reporting
The following resource is for students and external parties to file a complaint. Complaints filed using this form are submitted electronically and routed to the Human Resource Department initially. They will be tracked and resolved using as much privacy as affordable. Complaint investigations may be reassigned to a more appropriate individual even if tracking and documentation are retained by Human Resources. Any submission that provides a contact for follow up should receive a response from the university within one week and a resolution within 30 days. Most complaints are resolved within one business week.
Reporting Behavioral Concerns
Indiana Tech Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) / Campus Assessment Response and Education (CARE) Team is a group established to help identify and address early indicators for students who need either assistance or intervention. The BIT process identifies the potential for disruptive conduct, self-harm, and the risk of violence to others. “Red flags” are tracked over time, detecting patterns, trends, and disturbances in individuals or group behavior. The CARE process is designed to identify members of the community who are in need of support, guidance, or other intervention to refer them to appropriate campus and community resources. Examples of the CARE role might include mental health concerns, food insecurity, homelessness, unexpected life events, personal crisis, or even academic struggles, etc.
**If you suspect that a student may harm himself/herself, please contact 911 and Security immediately and advise the dispatcher of your concern. Request that a C.I.T. officer to respond.**
