Campus Parking

All vehicles parked on campus will be required to have a current university permit per vehicle or a valid temporary permit on the dash of the vehicle.

Enforcement Hours

  • C Permit Lots (1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8): Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 4:00 pm.
  • R Permit Lots (9a, 9, 10, 11, 12): 24 / 7/ 365
  • C and R Mixed Lots (1a, 3, 6): Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 4:00 pm.
  • Schick Street is university property with no parking available on the south section between Andorfer and Parking Lot 6. The north section between Kalbfleisch Hall and Summit Hall is short term parking for the Bistro and Central Grounds. Enforcement is 24/7.

All stalls with a sign (reserved, handicap, visitor, etc.), fire lanes, and loading zones are enforced at all times. Other enforcement information can be found on the Parking Regulations and Citations page.

Student Permit Types

  • C Permits – Commuters who live off campus.
  • R Permits – Residents of campus.

Visitor Parking

Free visitor permits can be obtained from Safety & Security, in Andorfer Commons. Visitor permits expire at midnight and allow for parking in C or C/R lots across campus.

Visitor permits must be placed on the dash of the vehicle and allow for the expiration date to be visible from the outside.

Guests of a department, vendors, and event organizers should request temporary permits from the hosting department or university contact.

Handicap Parking

Handicap parking is located near the entrance of each building. Vehicles must have a valid placard, plate, or tag to be parked in a handicap stall. No university permit is required to use a handicap stall. Drivers seeking a handicap plate must do so through the Indiana DMV.

Reserved Parking

Throughout campus, multiple parking locations are prohibited for regular students and employees. Any parking stall with a sign is only for guests and employee parking as indicated on the sign. No current student (with the exception of handicap as indicated above) will be allowed to park in a parking stall with a sign. Examples of reserved parking are service vehicle, resident coordinator, reserved, and visit IT).

Battery Jumps

If your car battery has died, please speak to a Safety & Security officer for assistance. The direct line to the security office is 260-399-2805. You will be required to sign a waiver before using the battery jump kit. While safety staff can provide guidance, jumps will need to be performed by the operator of the vehicle.

Individuals choosing to park at Indiana Tech do so at their own risk. If you accept a permit under false pretenses you will be subject to citation and/or removal of privileges. Permit fees, once a permit is ordered, are non-refundable regardless of enrollment or employment status.
