What do senior college student capstone projects, banking technology and Star Wars characters have in common? All will be celebrated during Indiana Tech’s Showcase of Senior Projects and Technology, sponsored by Fort Financial Credit Union. The event is Saturday, April 13.

Indiana Tech and Fort Financial Credit Union have teamed up to spotlight the capstone projects conceptualized by graduating seniors of the university’s College of Engineering and to showcase the state-of-the-art banking technology services offered by Fort Financial Credit Union.

The day will kick off with an exhibition of approximately 50 senior student capstone projects from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Snyder Academic Center on Indiana Tech’s downtown Fort Wayne campus, 1600 E. Washington Blvd. Attendees can expect a wide array of projects from Tech’s College of Engineering, which offers degrees in biomedical, computer, electrical, energy, industrial and manufacturing, and mechanical engineering.

“We are happy to give our students the opportunity to share their capstone projects with the public and to highlight the innovation taking place in Fort Wayne every day,” said dean of the College of Engineering, David Aschliman. “We thank Fort Financial for helping us to create this platform to showcase our students.”

Star Wars characters from the Northern Darkness Garrison (Northern Indiana chapter) of the 501st Legion will be on hand; attendees can have pictures taken with them at an on-site photo booth. Visitors will also be able to learn about Fort Financial Credit Union’s innovative banking technology during the event. Additionally, Flora’s Mexican Food Truck, Big Apple Pizza and Whip and Chill will be parked outside the Snyder Academic Center for guests to make purchases.

The event is free and open to the public.
